Overview
Launched at the 2000 Paris Motor Show, the Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina celebrated the collaboration between Maranello and the legendary design house Pininfarina. Built in strictly limited numbers, the Barchetta embodied Ferrari’s classic front-engined V12 open-top tradition while delivering modern supercar performance.
Inspired by icons such as the 166 MM and 250 GT California, the 550 Barchetta featured a simplified manual soft top, racing seats, unique bodywork, and a raked windscreen for a more aggressive profile. Under the bonnet, the naturally aspirated 5.5L V12 produced 485 hp, channeled through a six-speed manual gearbox, creating one of the purest open-air driving experiences of the early 2000s.
This particular car, number 435/448, is a standout example. Delivered new to Sheikh Al Thani and built to U.S. specification, it remains in exceptional condition, showing just 824 km from new. It has undergone high-quality restoration work in Switzerland, including refinishing by Carrosserie Services and mechanical servicing by Modena Cars and Garage Blaise Fischer.
