Beschreibung

"This car can be viewed in person from 14th to 18th July 2020 at our the auction site, Windsorview Lakes, Datchet, SL3 9HY
The Triumph TR6 was manufactured for seven years from 1969 and by the time production came to an end in July 1976, it was the best-seller of the TR range. The bodywork closely resembled that of the previous model, the Triumph TR5, but the front and rear were squared off and all TR6s featured inline six-cylinder engines. For the US market, the engine was fitted with carburettors whilst, for other world markets including the UK, the TR6 was fitted with fuel-injection. It featured a four-speed manual gearbox, independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, 15 wheels and tyres, pile carpet on the floors and boot, bucket seats and a full complement of instruments. In total 94,619 TR6s were built of which 86,249 were sold overseas and only 8,370 were sold in the UK.
This is no ordinary TR6. The vendor purchased the car in October 2014 and set about building the best TR6 possible. After five years and some £70,000 later we have a vehicle of the highest quality which has subsequently won concours events and attracts admiring glances wherever she goes. The list of work carried out is too extensive to list; however, we have made a note of the more significant items which include stripping the car to a bare shell, refabricating the body where required and repainting in Aston Martin Tungsten Silver. The Bentley Hudson red leather interior complements the exterior superbly, the seats have been rebuilt and are heated, the roll-bars are trimmed in matching leather, even the dashboard and door cappings have been custom made. Mechanically she has been extensively taken care of with the engine being fully rebuilt with new pistons, stage 2 cylinder head including unleaded conversion, the gearbox has also been overhauled as has the overdrive unit and rear axle. The suspension has been replaced and the rear suspension has been converted to Type 2 resulting in a much more enjoyable drive, the brakes have also been uprated with four pot calipers at the front. The often troublesome Lucas fuel injection unit has been replaced to a much more modern electronic system and the lights both interior and exterior have been converted to LED units. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a significant history folder, viewing is highly recommended on this outstanding Triumph TR6 the quality of which we have not seen before.

The health and safety of both our customers and team remains the utmost priority, we are therefore operating to Government guidelines throughout viewing and auction day.
