In keeping with the style and statement of the first official race held on 13 May 1950, Automobilist launches the ‘Platinum Anniversary Edition’, an exquisite collection of two artworks released to mark the 70th Anniversary of F1® racing: The Driver’s Edition, a gold-black rendition now owned by all of the drivers competing in the current F1 season, along with a selection of former drivers who have lent both speed and charisma to the motor sport; and The Collector’s Edition in pristine white. 1973 - the year it all officially began. As Rally Monte-Carlo raced to a start in the snowy winter month of January, little could we imagine that the sport would capture our imagination for 47 years and go strong. A special collection with the FIA World Rally Championship 50th year round the corner (2022).

On the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the defining moment of James Hunt’s career - the 1976 Formula 1 World Drivers’ Champion title in the McLaren M23 winning, Automobilist developed a Fine Art taken inspired by the challenges at his title winning Japanese Grand Prix in 1976, along with a series of posters taking inspiration from the man and his life. A weathered McLaren M23, the exact font on Hunt’s helmet or his winning moment, no detail has been spared in ensuring an accurate representation of the man, machine and moments from 1976.

Before the McLaren F1 GTR shook the 1995 Le Mans, no other team had ever captured four of the top five places on a debut appearance. Of the original 7 McLaren F1 GTRs entered at the 1995 Le Mans, four ended up in the Top 5 including car no 51, co-branded by Harrods, that finished third. The car also won the BPR GT Series title in ‘95. Team Lark McLaren then touched down in the Land of the Rising Sun in 1996 to take a 1-2 finish in the All Japan GT Car Championship at Suzuka Circuit.
