XK 120 Hardtop von XXXXXXXX
Um diese Hardtops ranken sich immer wieder unglaubliche Geschichten. Nur eines sei hergestellt worden, nur Clark Gables Wagen hätte ein solches gehabt oder dieses Hardtop sei eine Spezialanfertigung für Clark Gable und viele andere Räubergeschichten. Tatsache ist, dass die Firma XXXX Hardtops für offene Wagen in den USA hergestellt hatte, so auch für den XK 120. Der Vorteil war, es isolierte gut, es passte gut, es war einfach zu de- und montieren und es war robust. Überlebende dieser Hardtops sind aber mehr als selten und ausser diesem hier sah ich noch nie eines auf dem Markt angeboten.

Capturing the MC20 driving as it drives into the future with the design of the car set amidst a confident play of shades of blue.

Silver - the chosen colour of the foiled finish on the poster - pairs the car’s new colour chosen for this poster - Bianco Audace - a yellowish, rather warm white with a bluish mica that subtly evokes the vein patterns of marble.

Bugatti Type 57s brake components, comprising cast alloy left hand rear brake back plate with post and new cam bush; a cast alloy right hand brake back plate with post and new cam bush (marked damaged); together with a left hand steel front brake back plate (worn rim) with post and brake cam shaft fitting, and a Bugatti Type 57/57S front brake drum (some damage to two fins), all in used condition.

A Furet-Gergovia 1200kg jack, to suit Bugatti Type 57/57S, worn and used, repaired, with hinged jacking handle, wooden two-pin block and 3 jacking point guides including 2 with long guide rails painted cream.

A Speedometer by S.Smith & Son, British, patented 1911, with circa 1913 address 9 The Strand, numbered 9-8408 on white dial with 5-60mph scale, with mileometer and trip, 9cm diameter bevelled glass lens, bronze casing stamped 9 8408 to rear, with brass lens rim, outer case worn, previously painted black, with loss to paintwork, in working order at time of cataloguing.

A Bugatti 57/57s front leaf spring, (used) believed original with 3 clamp brackets, some cracking and loss to springs, suitable as pattern to make replacements, together with a replacement front leaf spring (used).

A Zenith carburettor patented 1907, bronze stamped 30DEF017187 with internals and other fittings (believed used on a Brescia Bugatti), 1 & 3/16 diameter inlet, together with a dismantled Zenith carburettor of similar date stamped 30AFZ08947, 1 & 3/16 diameter inlet, together with various unfitted Zenith jet tubes and jets.
