RM Sotheby’s 16th annual Hershey sale will return to the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, Pennsylvania, 5–6 October. RM Sotheby’s Hershey sale is the benchmark sale for early collectibles, ranging from Brass Era through to Pre-War cars with new auction records achieved each year.
The Hershey sale is the official auction of the Antique Automobile Club of America’s Eastern Division Fall Meet, one of the largest automobilia shows and flea markets in the world. Collectors come from across the globe to Hershey each year in search of rare and sought-after parts and collectibles. Hershey, Pennsylvania is rich in car culture, home to the world headquarters of the AACA and the AACA Museum; the event offers a truly world-class automotive experience.
As the “Classic Car Capital of the World” and the birthplace of the collector car auction industry in the United States, Auburn has long been a mecca for automobile collectors and enthusiasts. Many of the most important cars ever made have been bought and sold here, at The Auburn Automobile Company in the 1920’s and ’30s and in later years, at auction.
The celebrated Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum and annual Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival held over Labor Day Weekend attracts visitors from across the USA and overseas, bearing testament to the town’s unique motoring heritage.
IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE LONDON TO BRIGHTON VETERAN CAR RUN
Celebrating its 16th anniversary, RM Sotheby’s returns to London for its annual auction on 5 November, with preview on 4 November. This year, the sale is being elevated to new heights with a spectacular new venue - Marlborough House, a Grade 1 listed mansion in the exclusive St James’s area of central London, originally constructed by John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough. The London sale is known for its exciting atmosphere and eclectic breadth of cars from imposing veterans to modern supercars, and this year’s auction promises to be an outstanding sale in one of the most imposing locations in the city.
A hugely important element of the sale is RM Sotheby’s title sponsorship of the annual London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, held in partnership with the Royal Automobile Club. The Run is the oldest car event anywhere in the world, celebrating its 126th anniversary in 2022, and is the world’s largest and most evocative gathering of veteran cars, attracting hundreds of entries from all around the globe. RM Sotheby’s is excited to host its sale on the eve of the Veteran Car Run in conjunction with the partnership and will collaborate with the Royal Automobile Club across a number of events and activities in the proceeding days.
THE INAUGURAL MUNICH AUCTION
RM Sotheby’s is delighted to announce that in 2022 we will be returning to Germany with an all-new sale in Munich. The city is unquestionably one of the most important centres of automotive culture in Europe, and as such, it is the ideal location to host the latest addition to our annual live auction calendar. The sale will take place in the impressive surroundings of Motorworld, a venue described as the city’s centre of driving culture, lifestyle, and events. Motorworld is an imposing building that is a former repair shop on the Munich-Freimann railway, but which has been redeveloped into a spectacular venue hosting a range of exclusive car brands, automotive businesses, workshops, shops, restaurants, and even a hotel.
The preview and sale will take place over 24-26 November 2022 and will bring an eclectic selection of approximately 60 cars to market, offering automobiles from across the entire collecting spectrum. Taking place close to Christmas, visitors to the sale can also enjoy all the seasonal delights available in Munich, including its famous Christmas Market.
