Geschichte:
Der VW Karmann Ghia Typ 14 wurde als Coupe im August 1955 vorgestellt und nach einem Entwurf der italienischen Firma Ghia von Karmann in Osnabrück produziert. 1957, zwei Jahre nach dem Coupe kam das attraktive Cabriolet auf den Markt. Technisch mit dem Coupe weitgehend identisch. Entscheidende Ver-
änderungen sind die zahlreichen Versteifungen der Karosserie, vor allem im Bodenbereich. Das Verdeck ist qualitativ sehr hochwertig gearbeitet und setzt Maßstäbe in Verarbeitung, Material und Geräuscharmut. Anders als bei Käfer Cabriolet schließt es fast vollständig mit der Karosserielinie ab und verleiht dem Typ 14 ein äußerst elegantes Aussehen

* Installation of a period-correct 1960s cigarette lighter to allow the use of a GPS device
* Dashboard painted in the body color. Originally, it featured a wood-grain finish, but the body-color dashboard looks much more attractive. Reproduction wood finishes available today are generally of poor quality.
History:
The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Type 14 was introduced as a coupe in August 1955. Designed by the Italian coachbuilder Ghia and produced by Karmann in Osnabrück, Germany, it quickly became one of the most elegant automobiles of its era.
The attractive convertible version followed in 1957, two years after the coupe. Technically very similar to the coupe, the convertible received numerous structural reinforcements, especially in the floor area.
The soft top is of exceptionally high quality and set standards in craftsmanship, materials, and noise insulation. Unlike the Beetle Convertible, the top folds almost completely flush with the body line, giving the Type 14 an exceptionally elegant appearance.
