It is quite remarkable to get a British sports car in from its first Dutch owner. Who in the world still owns his or her newly acquired car after 52 years? This is a real nice drivers car. The bodywork is as solid as a rock, original with nice and thin correctly aligned body panels. The chrome wire wheels and other chrome brightwork is in very good condition. The chassis is also very neat. The high quality “Sonnenland” hood is in fine condition. The hood closes securely and other than a little damage to one of the side windows, is otherwise undamaged. A matching tonneau cover is available for days that allow you to go topless. The neat interior trim has a fine lived-in condition. The blue leather with white piping has a lovely patina. The wooden dashboard is also neat with all instruments in working order. Mechanically this Triumph TR4 is ready for many more pleasant miles of top-down driving. The 2.1 litre 4-cylinder engine is couples to a 4-speed gearbox and delivers 104 Hp. The engine runs perfectly and sounds great thanks to the twin open-air filters and the stainless steel exhaust system. The weighs in at only 1,016 kg and thanks to its independent rear suspension (IRS) has fantastic roadholding qualities. This is the one you would want to have. Furthermore the car has some nice Lucas spotlights, a chrome luggage rack and an overdrive. In short a fantastic, “proper Dutch” Triumph TR4A.
