Beschreibung
1965 Triumph TR4A
British registration document cleared through customs: 846A
Serial number: CT/58855-L
• Michelotti design, quintessentially British charm
• Over £3,000 worth of work carried out
Launched in 1961, the Triumph TR4 marked a clear break with its predecessors. Designed by Italian master Giovanni Michelotti, it modernised the English roadster line with its angular wings, expressive grille and sloping rear. Comfort was significantly improved with the introduction of rolling windows, a more ergonomic dashboard and numerous practical features, all without betraying the sporty DNA of the TR range. Under the bonnet, the 2.1-litre four-cylinder engine offered flexibility and power. An instant success, the TR4 became an icon of British motoring in the 1960s.
The example offered for sale dates from 1965 and now features a red interior and black roof, replacing its original black interior and red exterior. This livery gives it a more dynamic character while remaining faithful to the elegance of the period models. Mounted on 60-spoke wheels, it retains the aesthetic and technical attributes dear to fans of the brand. In terms of equipment, it benefits from period heating and a spare wheel. The car comes with invoices totalling over €3,000, including the replacement of fuel lines in the engine compartment, gearbox and water pump. The car comes with an additional bonnet badge with details in the same colour as the car. The only downside is the rocker panels, which were poorly repaired at one time, and would benefit from a proper repair.
