Backed by a powerful high-revving engine, rear wheel drive, and race bred suspension, a Shelby GT 350 purchased on Friday could hit the track on Saturday, rest on Sunday, and then drive to work on Monday. Returning once again to the same goals of the original offering 50 years earlier, durability, superb performance, and fantastic handling were a big part of the Shelby offering delivered for 2016. At the heart of this race-bred performance car, the all new 5.2 Liter engine dubbed “Voodoo V8” was capable of a whopping 526 hp coupled to a robust Tremec 6-speed manual transmission, Torsen differential with 3.73 rear axle ratio, and hunkered down on 295/305 19” Michelin tires. Brembo brakes with semi-floating cross-drilled rotors delivered fantastic stopping power, while MagnaRide damping and weight reduction measures including a carbon fiber reinforced radiator support with molded in cooling channels, made for a light weight and smooth handling performance car.All this power and sophistication was seamlessly delivered in the Shelby GT 350, which weighed in lighter than the former big brother GT 500 and turned an impressive 0-60 time of 4.3 seconds, covering the quarter mile in 12.5 seconds, and hammering the traps at 117mph. Beastly powerful and offered with two exhaust selection modes, the GT 350 is equally home on the track as it is on city roads. At that time, the car showed 5,300 miles. Later that same year, with 5,800 miles, the same dealer installed a customer supplied differential. Subsequent oil changes were performed at 12,300 miles and 14,400 miles. The A/C system was serviced at 12,400 miles including replacing the evaporator housing ($3,700.00) and the front brake pads replaced at 14,400 miles. In preparation for the sale, the car received an oil change at 17,072 miles, July 2020. The finish is in sharp condition showing typical front fascia chips and stone marks frequently found on cars that have seen track duty. All glass, clear front and rear lenses, and exterior body trim are in excellent cosmetic condition including the massive grille opening, rear diffusers, and rear spoiler. All openings function as new, with excellent closure, factory panel gaps, and crisp fit to the front and rear bumper caps. All Shelby logos and trim are in place and in excellent condition. The black wheels are in excellent condition with one bead edge mark noted on the left front wheel. Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires are mounted with Brembo brakes over two-piece cross drilled discs at all four corners. Quad exhaust authoritatively explodes out from each rear end corner, flanking the central air diffusers, while announcing the power lurking beneath the stealthy black body shell.Inside the car, the supple, the black leather and suede interior exhibits near new finishes throughout showing excellent surface finishes and a near mint back seat. All interior components have been beautifully maintained including smooth and supple leather trimmed seats, excellent light-color accent stitching, multi-gauge dashboard, touch screen center screen, and Alcantara wrapped steering wheel. The front seats offer multiple power settings and solid seat bolstering with supportive side grip suitable for track days and still comfortable for long cruises. The passenger side dashboard contains the emblem “Shelby GT 350 Chassis - G1507”. An accessory fire extinguisher is mounted at the rear portion of the passenger footwell. The trunk retains factory lining and a portable air compressor for emergency tire use.Under the hood, the powerful 5.2 Liter Voodoo flat-plane crank V8 offers incredible yet reliable performance. The engine has been meticulously maintained both mechanically and cosmetically, showing proper care and detailing to support the low original miles. The lightweight carbon fiber construction forward radiator housing unique to these cars operates as a molded-in structural air channel system. Every factory component, trim piece, and manufacturer’s engine compartment sticker remain in place in excellent cosmetic condition. The undercarriage of the car further supports the documented low miles showing no significant road marks on the factory aerodynamic chassis pans and no immediate evidence of structural compromise to the chassis pan or main suspension mounting points. Suspension and various exposed components revealed in the underside are also in excellent condition, displaying a clean and fresh appearance. Many of the undercarriage stickers and factory assembly paint marks are still in place.Driving this Shelby, one is immediately reminded of how much performance engineering has advanced since the 1960s. Power from the flat-plane crank engine is massive with seemingly no limit to the engine revs, fantastic brakes, and incredible handling. Further still, the astonishing on-demand performance is perfectly at home while idling through city traffic or modestly cruising at highway speeds. Immediate power is readily on tap at the flick of the wrist as the pedal drops and you surge forward, revs climbing, while mortals fade away in the rear-view mirror. All this power is light years ahead of former muscle cars offering refreshing AC, easy to use controls, an enjoyable sound system, and the added pleasure of knowing you are driving one of the last and most enduring cars of legendary motorsports history.Items Included with the CarThis Shelby GT 350 is accompanied by a set of factory manuals with factory leather case, factory air compressor, a Shelby branded car cover and bag, and copies of purchase and service records dating back to 2016.
