Beschreibung
"In February 1991, Porsche released the 944 Turbo Cabriolet which combined the Turbo S's 250bhp engine with the cabriolet body built by the ASC-American Sunroof Company at Weinsberg in Germany. Porsche initially announced that 600 would be made, but ultimately 625 were built, 100 of which were righthand drive, of these 50 are believed to of been supplied to the UK, and the remaining 50 were sent between Australia, South Africa and Japan. The Porsche 944 Turbo cabriolet was built on the platform of the later 944 S2 series and was in fact one of the most powerful open top sports cars available at the time and with a 0-60mph time of 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 162mph. The 944 Turbo cabriolet is by no means any slouch even in today’s marketplace. The Standard specification included Porsche anti theft, Blaupunkt Symphony stereo radio cassette player, air conditioning and electric seats and with a start price of £46,994, this made the car a direct contender for its brother, the 911 but at a higher price.
Offered in Grand Prix White with grey leather trim, this 944 Turbo Cabriolet had had two former owners, the most recent having owned this fabulous example for the last 21 years, contained within the history file is the original advert from when he bought it. The vehicle has 23 service stamps all carried out by a single Porsche main dealer, 17 services, three brake fluid changes and three cambelt services, the most recent in 2016 less than 1,000 miles ago. This is an original, unrestored car in incredible condition and must be seen to be fully appreciated as it is tough to convey just how good this example truly is. This is one of only 100 righthand drive cars produced and it is unlikely that we will ever see one this good again."
