The Porsche 914/6GT we are offering here is chassis 9140432505 and was delivered new to Friedrich Graepel of Loningen on 4 March 1970. Upon delivery, it was decided to bring the car to GT specifications in order to participate to the German ADAC championship for the 1971 season. Well respected Porsche team Autohaus Max Moritz was entrusted to carry the work. The famous team would become one of Porsche’s most loyal privateer outfits.

9140432505 made its debuts at the International Rallye Lyon-Charbonnières-Stuttgart-Solitude exactly a year after its delivery, in March 1971. It unfortunately resulted in its retirement due to mechanical problems. However the team improved that first disappointing result with a strong 2nd place in the 2.0-litre GT class at the ADAC Rallye Ulm in April and a further 2nd place at the Spoinen Rally in July and the Sportliche Prufungsfahrt Solitude in October.

In 1972 the 914/6GT was entered in six DRM events, highlighted with a fantastic victory in the combined GT class in the Stuttgart-Strasbourg-Stuttgart Rally. Further honorable results included a 4th in class at the Lyon-Chabonnière rally and a 5th place at the Olympia Rally (won that time by the unbeatable Jean-Pierre Nicholas / Jean Todt in their Works Alpine).

For the following two years 9140432505 remained unused and stored before it was re-entered again for the Lyon-Chabonnière rally where it got damaged in practiced, marking the end of its racing career. The car remained thereafter stored in a semi-dismantled state until Mr Graepel passed away in 2001. The family sold 9140432505 later on to renowned Porsche specialists Mittelmotor GmbH who embarked a ground-up restoration to exacting standards as when the car was originally prepared by Autohaus Max Moritz in 1970. The restoration included the upgraded engine to ‘Carrera 6’ specification, confirmed by a dyno-sheet showing 218 bhp at nearly 10,000 rpm!

9140432505 is offered in outstanding restored condition throughout and equipped with an FIA-certified rollcage, detachable fiberglass panels – as homologated, 914/6 GT aluminum brake calipers and twin-plug ignition 2-litre engine with correct 906-style fan arrangement. This stunning 914/6 GT, boasting current FIA papers and the first original German Kraftfahrzeugbrief, is an ideal entrant to most historic events including Le Mans Classic and Tour Auto.
