Porsche also focused on making the Clubsport as light as possible. By using aluminum alloys for the front hood lid and doors, lightweight interior door cards, thinner glass, and hard-bolstered Recaro sports seats with six-point racing harnesses, the RS was put on a strict diet. The headliner was also deleted, as were the 993's power seats, windows, and mirrors, the central locking system, the intermittent wipers, the radio and speakers, the rear window defroster, and the airbags. Added to this were a fully welded Matter roll cage, a front strut tower, ball-joint damper mounts at the front, adjustable front and rear anti-roll bars, a battery disconnect switch, and a fire extinguisher. The interior was stripped of any paneling or soundproofing and painted in the body color. The RS Clubsport was equipped with 18-inch aluminum wheels with magnesium centering discs and a three-piece "Speedline for Porsche" center lock. A special front air splitter and a large rear wing made the Clubsport unique.
