EXTERIOR
Dubbed the Pagoda thanks to its uniquely curved Coupe roof the W113 series SL is one of Mercedes’ most iconic pieces of design. Finished in its factory colour of White Grey (158) this 230SL looks superb, with the muted shade providing a sense of elegance that perfectly encapsulates the Pagodas stunning design. Chrome details adorn much of the exterior, defining the cars beautiful lines, including the large and iconic front grille and headlights.

Restored by the previous owner, condition of this car is very clean; paintwork shows with a bright, even gloss and only a few minor imperfection to note. Most importantly however this example presents free from any signs of rust or corrosion having undergone significant past restoration.

INTERIOR
Beautifully appointed in combination of rich red leather, chrome and body coloured details the cabin of this 230SL Pagoda oozes style. Perfectly configured for grand touring the interior is a wonderful place to be; large front seats feel more life armchairs, with a sprung frame providing incredible cushioning, whilst the large diameter thin rimmed steering wheel and power steering produce a beautifully smooth and simple driving experience. Central to the space sits a period Blaupunkt FM Radio and analogue dash clock, which ties together the 60’s charm of the space.

Adding some extra versatility, this example also comes with an extremely rare side facing rear 3rd seat, allowing for an extra 2nd passenger to come along for the ride. Additionally the rear boot space is vast, leaving space to carry all the luggage one could need for a cross continental trip.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Silky smooth the inline-6 M129.II engine suits the laid back character of the Pagoda; developed from the existing M180 the Pagodas engine features a larger head, high compression vales, modified camshaft and an uprated injection system to give the Pagoda effortless power delivery on demand.

Connected to a 4-Speed manual gearbox the whole drivetrain feels smooth with a certain sporting edge, producing around 148bhp with a claimed top speed of 124 mph.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Chrome hub caps, and centre caps finished in tonal White Grey, show in excellent condition and are shod in matching Hankook tyres all round.

Discs up front and drums at the rear do a superb job of keeping the lightweight Pagoda under control, bringing the car to a halt with ease.

HISTORY FILE
First registered on 30/09/1966 this beautiful W113 Pagoda was one of the last 230SLs to be produced, with the 250SL coming into production in January 1997. The car is believed to have been EU supplied from new and then exported to the USA in its early life, before being purchased and shipped to the UK in 2013 and registered a year later.

Upon arrival in the UK the car was treated to an extensive overhaul, with almost £7k worth of parts invoices present from 2013 including a number of replacement body panels to ensure this now sits as a stunning useable, rust free example.

Present with the car is a selection of original Mercedes books and prices lists, selection of invoices, MOT certificates and V5.
