Beschreibung
Chassis no. 121040 10 019052
Engine no. 121.921 10-019202 190 SL Coupé Hardtop with a removable hardtop and several details of its finishing from the “normal” Roadster.
This vehicle is fitted with a fabric soft hood, but accompanied by the original hardtop, which has never been restored and is well preserved.
Produced in 1960, fitted to Italian market specifications, it was sold the same year and has remained there ever since.
Still sporting its original color combination of "Weiss DB50" (white) over dark red interiors, and it has a dark red hood.
Initially registered in Pescara, this 190 SL has had four owners in total, a prominent one being Tazio Taraschi, son of Berardo Taraschi, the celebrated Abruzzo-based manufacturer of racing cars.
In 1971 the car was re-registered in L’Aquila where it spent a remarkable 42 years (from 1971 to 2013) under its penultimate ownership.
Comeing with its original logbook and the black plates issued in L’Aquila in 1971.
Not used since the devastating earthquake that struck this part of Italy in 2009, the 190 SL was totally restored in 2014. The work took from January to September and cost 45,000 euros (some of the invoices are available). As a result of this work, which involved the bodywork, mechanics and interiors and is extensively documented in photos, the car is now concours ready.
