Diese schöne Mercedes-Benz Limousine verfügt über den V8-Motor und das Automatik Getriebe des Mercedes-Benz 600 und erreichte mit 250 PS (184 kW) bei 4000/min das Leistungspotential hochkarätiger Sportwagen seiner Zeit. Seine Spitzengeschwindigkeit beträgt 220 km/h, die Beschleunigung von 0 auf 100 km/h 6,5 Sekunden (Werksangabe). Das maximale Drehmoment beträgt 500 Nm bei 2800/min. Von außen war der 6.3 nur an den breiteren Reifen in der Größe 195–14 oder 205–14 und den H1-Halogen-Doppelscheinwerfern zu erkennen. Dadurch entfielen die Nebelscheinwerfer in der Leuchteinheit. Stattdessen wurden neben dem Kühlergrill separate runde Nebel-scheinwerfer angebracht. Der Preis des neuen W-109-Spitzenmodells betrug anfangs 39.160 DM und lag zum Ende der Modellreihe im Januar 1972 bei 47.397 DM, was nach heutiger Kaufkraft und inflationsbereinigt 87.000 bzw. 90.100 Euro entspricht. This beautiful Mercedes-Benz sedan has the V8 engine and automatic transmission of the Mercedes-Benz 600 and, with 250 hp (184 kW) at 4000 rpm, achieved the performance potential of top-class sports cars of its time. Its top speed is 220 km/h, and it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds (manufacturer's specification). The maximum torque is 500 Nm at 2800 rpm. From the outside, the 6.3 was only recognizable by its wider 195–14 or 205–14 tires and H1 halogen twin headlights. This meant that the fog lights were no longer included in the lighting unit. Instead, separate round fog lights were installed next to the radiator grille. The price of the new W-109 top-of-the-range model was initially DM 39,160 and stood at DM 47,397 at the end of the model series in January 1972, which corresponds to €87,000 and €90,100 respectively in today's purchasing power and adjusted for inflation.
