With only 830 vehicles built, the 220 SE Ponton Coupé is one of the rarest vehicles in post-war Mercedes production. This example was delivered to Max Hoffmann, the legendary Mercedes importer in New York, in 1960 and registered in the USA. A few years ago, the chic coupé was imported to Germany and registered there. Around 10 years ago, the body was restored by a German specialist and repainted in the original colour H50 (white). The black leather upholstery was refreshed, as were the wooden elements in the interior. Extensive mechanical provision ensured that the 220 SE was also technically fit again. In 2015, the Mercedes was finally purchased and imported by a Swiss enthusiast. He only drove his coupé a little but had an engine overhaul carried out in 2019 before selling the car to the consignor. For health reasons, the current owner decided to pass the rare coupé on to a new enthusiast. The 220 is in very good condition, has a FIVA ID from 2015 and the last Veteran MOT has been completed in December 2018.
