For sale is a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing in "bits and pieces" as an unfinished full restoration project.

This Gullwing was part of a "big criminal investigation" against a popular Mercedes-Benz restoration company and 300 SL specialist in Germany. The chassis itself is a full re-creation by the restoration company based on the original chassis and due to this fact there are no legal existing vehicle papers.

This Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing started its life as chassis No. 0081 in year 1954 and was planned to be fully restored from the year 2019 to year 2024. Unfortunately the restoration company started a fraud by selling the original chassis after the dissambling of the 300 SL before its full restoration to rebuilt it onto an identical chassis frame. The full restoration was aborted in year 2024 when the restoration company went bankrupt, letting the Gullwing behind and uncompleted. The 300 SL engine, the gearbox, the paintjob, leatherworks, brakes, axles and much more have been fully restored so far but not assembled to the car.

This 300 SL Gullwing could become a very good race car project
or can be used as a spare parts object, up to the buyers idea. A road legal registration for use on the public roads is not possible due to the missing vehicle papers. We are strictly selling this vehicle as a "spare parts package".
