Lotus Esprit Turbo Essex Commemorative Edition 1981 – Rare Example – Carefully Maintained – Complete History and Recent Work – 12-Month Warranty

This rare Lotus Esprit Turbo Essex “Commemorative Edition” was delivered new in September 1981 in Austria. It is one of only 11 LHD examples among the 41 models produced worldwide.

It presents in original specification with its Monaco Blue paint and red leather interior, and is in superb overall condition with all its period-correct equipment. Fully restored in 2017 in Austria (over 450 photos available on a USB drive) and further reinforced for reliability by a marque specialist in 2022 with more than €25,000 in invoices available, this Lotus has been regularly driven by its owner ever since.

There are believed to be only 6 or 7 Essex models remaining in LHD configuration, and this example is in very good overall condition. Its history is known since 1981 – including the first registration in Austria – the original service booklet is stamped, and the original owner’s manual is present.

It is important to note that the car comes with its Lotus certificate of authenticity, a valid roadworthiness test will be carried out for the sale, and the car will be covered by a 12-month mechanical breakdown warranty.
