The performance-oriented version of the first-generation Lancia Delta (the Lancia Delta Group A) was successfully campaigned in the World Rally Championship. Lancia secured the Constructors' title six times in a row (from 1987 to 1992) and the Drivers' title three times (1988, 1989, and 1991).
For the road, the lineup included the Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione. It featured all-wheel drive and a 210 hp, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo engine. The later Evoluzione II model boosted output to 215 hp. Indeed, most people associate the Delta primarily with this version; it was essentially a rally car built for the road.
Production finally ended in 1993, making way for the second-generation Delta.
The EVO 1 presented here is an 8-valve model, originally manufactured for the Swiss, US, Canadian, and Japanese markets to comply with local emissions regulations. Finished in the original *Rosso Monza* color scheme, the Evoluzione’s distinctive design truly stands out. Its flared fenders, aggressive front end, and rally DNA are unmistakable. The paintwork is in good condition, and the car exudes originality, careful maintenance, and—above all—aggression.
The interior features Recaro sports seats trimmed in dark grey Alcantara. These seats offer excellent support during spirited driving and show no signs of excessive wear. To keep the driver fully informed of the engine's status at all times, Lancia equipped the dashboard with no fewer than five analog gauges. Under the hood lies the proven 2.0L 8-valve turbo engine, mated to a rally-derived permanent all-wheel-drive system. This specific engine variant came from the factory with a larger turbo and modified mapping, tailored for the Canadian market. When you floor the throttle, there is a brief moment of hesitation—almost as if Lancia did this intentionally to give you a split second to ask yourself: "Do I really dare do this?" For the adrenaline junkies who do, the Lancia responds instantly; the turbo begins to draw in a massive volume of air, signaling clearly that this rocket is ready for launch. It is a true delight to experience; if you’re having a bad day, this is the car to turn it into a fantastic one!
The mechanical components have been well maintained—including a very recent inspection (APK)—and parts have been replaced or modified where necessary, always with a focus on quality, driving pleasure, and originality.
