Introduced in 1979, the Lancia Delta immediately attracted attention with its design by Giorgetto Giugiaro, combining sobriety and balance. Although the first versions remained discreet, it was in 1986, with the appearance of the Delta HF 4WD, that the model became a legend. Equipped with four-wheel drive and a turbocharged engine, it took over from the Delta S4 in rallying after Group B was banned.
From 1987, the Delta HF evolved into the more powerful and sharper Intégrale. This was followed by the 16v and then Evoluzione versions, whose exploits in the World Rally Championship remained unrivalled: six consecutive manufacturers' titles from 1987 to 1992. Success in competition was based on the constant evolution of production models, directly derived from rally stages.
The car on offer is a 1988 Delta HF Intégrale, delivered new to Paris and kept by its sole owner ever since. A genuine first-hand car, it has less than 110,000 km on the clock. It has recently undergone major mechanical work, including a complete overhaul of the engine, axles and gearbox. The bodywork has also benefited from a new paintwork finish, restoring this Italian icon to its former glory.
An emblematic representative of Lancia's expertise, this Delta HF Intégrale combines all-wheel drive with a Garrett T3 turbo, whose response time has been optimised, offering a sensation close to that of a naturally-aspirated engine.
