TO74781L (# 460255)
At the beginning of 1989, in anticipation of the season debut tests, ABARTH prepared six new bodies in different configurations: the TO74780L and 1L (ours) as light asphalt bodies, the TO74782L and 3L in heavy earth/safari version and the TO74784L and 5L for light earth. The cars made a decisive contribution to the development of the technical innovations introduced for the new racing season, with the achievement of important race placings that culminated in the 3rd World Constructors' Title.
TO74781L was registered in January 1989 as a test car for the Monte Carlo Rally and the BIASION/SIVIERO crew, of which it retains the original equipment, including SPARCO seats. After its use in ABARTH, the car was given to the HOLZER satellite team in Germany that, with the support of the parent company, carried out the mechanical and body updates foreseen by the FIA fiche and the relative extensions. Still in 8v configuration, it continued its career in the German Championship until, in 1990 and following the introduction of the new 16v model, the car was sold to Grenoble Sport Auto in France.
At the end of the 1990s, the “1L” was repatriated by the AUTOIERI company of Dronero (CN) before being definitively handed over to the current owner in 2015. Following a meticulous conservative restoration by KEY SPORT of Rimini, a leader in the sector, the car was awarded the Certification of Authenticity by FCA Heritage - Lancia Classiche, with the highest score for originality by the examining commission.
The car retains all the prerogatives of the original ABARTH set-up, both at the interior level with the original BIASION/SIVIERO seats, the fire extinguishing system and the HALDA RALLY, and at the mechanical level with the 8v engine, the IAW70 control unit and the R70 6-speed gearbox.
Car can be entered in all the most prestigious world events in the sector including Rally Legend, Eifel Rallye Festival and the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
