According to Jaguar Heritage Trust, 1E31718 was constructed on September 3, 1965 in Opalescent Dark Green over Beige – as it wears today, with engine number 7E 5618-9 – distributed by Jaguar Cars, New York as a U.S. specification, lefthand drive, 4.2 liter fixed-head coupe. In recent years, the E-Type was acquired from decades of enthusiast ownership out of Eldorado Hills, California. It's said the previous long-term caretaker spent lavishly over many years comprehensively restoring the vehicle – which was ultimately finished by its next steward in Pleasanton, California in 2021. Beautiful cosmetics are complemented a solid body and chassis.

Today, the car remains matching numbers (engine block and head), with a recent Summer 2022 inspection and tune-up performed. An aluminum radiator, oversized electric fan, polyurethane bushings, and adjustable GAZ shocks offer all-weather / all-road reliability.
