Beschreibung
With the introduction of the 550 Maranello in 1997, Ferrari returned to its tradition of building front-engined V12 berlinettas, resurrecting a line that had remained dormant since the demise of the Daytona in 1974. Styled by Pininfarina and powered by a 5.5-liter V12 developing 485 CV, the 550 married genuine supercar performance to the everyday usability of a proper grand tourer. With its front-engine V12 and six-speed gated manual transmission, it makes an ideal entry point into modern Ferrari grand touring.
Chassis number 117931 was delivered new through Ferrari Deutschland GmbH, supplied by official dealer Tamsen on 5 January 2000 to its first owner, a German resident in Bremen. Finished in sober Nero over a Nero leather interior, the car wears its restraint well, the only flourish coming from the Rosso brake calipers behind the five-spoke wheels.
The original service and warranty booklet records a consistent maintenance history thereafter, largely within the Austrian dealer network. Documented stamps include work carried out by Ferrari dealer Wolfgang Denzel in March 2004 at 21,651 km, when the timing belts were renewed, followed by Baron Service GmbH in Vienna in February 2007 and again in January 2010 at 37,841 km, with both services including timing belt replacements. Later services by Denzel and Schuster Premium GmbH continue the record through 2016, with the last belt replacement in June 2020 at 75,240 km, only some 3,000 kilometers ago.
Following relocation to Belgium in 2023, chassis 117931 received a comprehensive service at Belgian Ferrari specialist Project STS, carried out between October 2024 and April 2025. The transmission was fully rebuilt, while engine work included 12 new spark plugs along with new filters and fresh fluids throughout. Further attention included remediation of the well-known "sticky buttons" issue, with the two invoices on file totaling in excess of €17.000, leaving it completely ready for new adventures in the hands of its next custodian. Now offered with fewer than 79,000 kilometers shown on the odometer at the time of cataloging, chassis 117931 is a well-documented example of Ferrari's landmark return to the front-engined V12.
