History:
The Ferrari 512 BBi is the fuel-injected evolution of the Berlinetta Boxer, introduced in 1981. Powered by a Formula 1-inspired flat-12 engine, it succeeded the Daytona and embodied Ferrari's era of Pininfarina-designed mid-engined grand tourers. This particular example is one of the final 141 cars produced.
This 512 BBi was delivered new in March 1984 by Ferrari dealer Symbol Car in Turin. It left the factory finished in Nero Carbonio with a cream leather interior, a combination it still retains today. Its first owner was the company Edelweiss di Sereno Barberis Negra & C., registered under the Italian plate VC423583. It was later owned by the company Bielle Cascani Tessili before being acquired in 1996 by Mr. Enrico Perin of Mozzate.
In 2014, the car was purchased by Maranello Service, which subsequently sold it to a French company based in Cannes. Before delivery, Maranello Service carried out a complete restoration. The bodywork was fully repainted, while the original leather upholstery was refurbished using the original hides.
The mechanical restoration was particularly extensive: suspension components were restored and zinc-plated, shock absorbers overhauled, the engine completely rebuilt with all seals and wear components replaced, engine block and casings repainted or re-galvanized, clutch replaced, air-conditioning compressor replaced, a freer-flowing exhaust installed, water, oil and air-conditioning hoses inspected and replaced where necessary, and the electrical system fully overhauled. This restoration is thoroughly documented with invoices and photographs and represents a total investment of €105,000. At the time, the car had covered approximately 58,000 km.
In February 2022, the fuel injection system was serviced: the seals of both K-Jetronic units were replaced and the fuel pressure accumulators renewed.
The current owner acquired the car in December 2022. In 2023, it underwent a comprehensive service including replacement of the timing belts, water pump and clutch.
Today, this Ferrari presents in excellent overall condition, benefiting from its recent restoration, high-quality paintwork and beautifully preserved interior.
