Ferrari 308 GTS, Rosso Rubino
In the past, the Ferrari 308 was labeled multiple times as "one of the most beautiful Ferraris ever made." In 2026, those words still turn out to be true, as its value has proven to be exceptionally stable – partly due to its timeless beauty. The configuration and history of this specific classic are also exceptional: the bodywork is finished in Rosso Rubino and was completely renewed in 2009 by a Dutch specialist. The looks are stunning, but everything underneath is just as impressive: the V8 engine was perfectly maintained by Dutch Ferrari dealer Kroymans from 1995-2007. Also for the years after, official service documents confirm a solid history. So the twinkle in your eye is completely justified. And we see no reason to hold back your right foot any longer…
308 GTS history
When de Ferrari 308 was introduced back 1975, it was warm welcomed by the audience. For multiple reasons: besides the thrilling technical side, the arrival of the GTB/GTS also marked the comeback of design legend Pininfarina. The master teached his student well: Leonardo Fioravanti made a car from another level compared to predecessor Dino 308 GT4: the angular, controversial Bertone design was soon forgotten when the 308 Gran Turismo Berlinetta (GTB) – and 2 years later the Gran Turismo Spider (GTS) with removable targa roof – arrived. The latter is inextricably linked to Magnum, P.I.: the world-famous American television series from the 1980s. Speaking of which, this specific Ferrari also has roots on that side of the Atlantic Ocean. It was delivered new in 1978 in Los Gatos, California. It sure loves the sun, this GTS… But it was the Netherlands that set eyes on this gorgeous machine, resulting in a move to our county back in 1992. Since then, the Italian beauty has always remained loyal to our territorial. Its previous owners were loyal too: the last one, to whom we sold the car in 2015, owned the Ferrari 308 for nearly 12 years. His predecessor retained it in his collection for exactly as long. This was right after the period when the thoroughbred was maintained 12 years long by Ferrari Kroymans. So twelve is clearly the number of loyalty.
308 GTS exterior
Goodbye Bertone, hello Pininfarina! The 308 GTB and GTS succeeded the less popular Dino 308 GT4, which was drawn by a different design house. After alle these years, Ferrari and Pininfarina were proven to be made for each other. Our GTS is the 308 at its best: combined with the Rosso Rubino lacquer, it’s a feast for the eyes. The car was completely repainted in 2009 by professional restorer Fokkens in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. What can we say? The sharp contours, flowing lines and dazzling color scheme make our Ferrari 308 GTS a collector's item of the highest level. Also note the ultra-sharp nose and typical 80s style elements such as the pop-up headlights and NACA air ducts. Doesn't that make any art and heritage enthusiast happy?
308 GTS interior
The interior of the 308 is just as much a masterpiece: it features super tasteful brown leather upholstery combined with black elements in the seats and a matching leather steering wheel + dashboard. The door handles and rear deck are black as well. The contrast is magnificent and matches the red/black two-tone exterior of this classic Ferrari. Analog instruments in aluminum finish and matching gear gates for the manual transmission breath Ferrari history too. It’s all protected by a Class 3 alarm, carefully installed by Kroymans.
308 GTS technique & performance
Extensive documentation of the maintenance history is included from the period 1999 to 2015 – from 23,547 to 34,790 miles. A few highlights in that service history: a new clutch in 2008, new paint in 2009, new spark plugs in 2011, a major service including a new belt and valve adjustment, oil + filters and carburetor adjustments in March 2012, as well as a new belt + various oil seals, oil + filters in 2015. Feel free to ask us for the complete documentation containing all the details. One thing is for sure: the 2.9-liter Ferrari V8 with 240 PS is a true gem. It always has been. And that’s exactly how it has been treated.
