The 250 Pininfarina Series 2 Convertible, built in just 200 units between 1959 and 1962, was a true gentleman’s Ferrari designed for high-speed touring. Clothed in Pininfarina’s striking, open coachwork, it represented a major improvement over earlier cars, namely in the form of revised shock absorbers, better sound insulation, overdrive transmission, all-around disc brakes, and the new “outside-plug” Tipo 128 engine producing 232 horsepower. With the performance one would expect from Maranello’s finest, the cabriolet gave no concessions to luxury and was exquisitely trimmed and appointed to please Ferrari’s demanding clientele. With a spacious boot that can hold more than enough luggage for a long-weekend trip, this is the ideal choice for high-end vintage touring events.

THE EXAMPLE OFFERED FOR SALE

Chassis 3751GT, the 250 PF Convertible we are offering for sale, is the sixth to last example and benefits from all improvements incorporated during the production run. It was delivered on October 4 1962 to the official French importer Franco-Britannic Autos and sold to its first owner Philippe André from Paris. In July 1968, the car was exported from France to New York by Viviano Corradini and subsequently sold to a resident of Danbury, Connecticut. In May 1980, 3751GT was sold to Jim Francis of Roanoke, Virginia, who then passed it to Barry Russinof, resident of Miami, Florida. In 1990, the Ferrari was acquired by Paul Tavilla of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, who in turn sold it 6 years later to Cosmopolitan Motors located in Seattle, Washington. Various ads published throughout the 80s and 90s confirm the car’s low mileage and good original condition. In the early 2000s, 03751GT was brought back to Europe by Paul Koot, a classic car dealer from Eden, Netherlands, and subsequently sold to Christian Chavy of Paris, France. In 2006, Chavy sold the Ferrari to Christophe Graignic of Cavalaire Sur Mer, France. Graignic kept the car for the next 14 years and showed it at various meetings and concours. At the end of Grainic’s ownership, the car had accumulated a total mileage of 79.000 km, of which 16.500 had been added by him.

After acquiring 03751GT in 2020, the following custodian embarked on a full concours restoration to the highest level possible. He had identified the potential of this well kept and fully matching numbers open-top Ferrari 250 and strived to return its to its glorious original color combination of Azzurro Acrilico over pelle naturale. The restoration was entrusted to the world renowned specialist Bacchelli & Villa in Modena, with interior done by Maieli and mechanics by Officine Sauro. We had the pleasure of managing the restoration for the owner over the course of the last three years and it has been documented by hundreds of pictures across all stages. The result is simply stunning in every respect. Of course, all restoration invoices are on file, totalling 350.000 Euro. Upon completion in 2023, the 250 PF received a Red Book Ferrari Classiche certification with every single number and all components corresponding with the original specification.

If you are looking for the very best 250 PF S2 Convertible without any compromise, look no further.

3751GT is on the button and offered with EU papers, tool kit, jack, 2023 Red Book Classiche certification, Massini report and restoration/history file.
