Beschreibung
This early Chrysler Valiant - sold in the USA under the Plymouth label - with its cranky looking coachwork received its final assembly through AMAG Automontage Schinznach. The limousine, with its 2.8 litre inline 6 cylinder and push button operated automatic gearbox, was officially imported on the 13th of March 1961 and first registered the day after. Delivered in the more luxurious V 200 deluxe edition, the car was clearly cherished from day one. Although its early history is not known, in 1999 the limousine with then 89’000 kilometres on the clock, was taken over by the last owner's family. Being a mechanic himself the new owner took care of all the maintenance and all the work was carefully recorded. In 2006, at 94’637 kilometres, he had the radiator overhauled and in 2008, at 96’671 kilometres, the braking system was overhauled and converted to silicon brake fluid. Now the odometer of the Valiant shows just over 99’000 kilometres which is most probably correct. The matching-numbers engine is running perfectly, and the automatic gearbox is shifting smoothly. The coachwork and the interior are in original condition and provide a very charming patina. The last Veteran MOT was completed in August 2020.
