Beschreibung
The 1963 Shinoda/Mitchell designed C2 Corvette finally brought the American sports car to European levels in performance and driveability. The split window rear screen is the most significant design feature of the 1963 manufacturing year and was discontinued in 1964. This makes a Split Window coupé the rarest and most coveted C2 Corvette. The example we are very proud to offer was originally delivered with a 250 hp 5.3 litre V8 engine and the desirable 4 speed manual gearbox. It was assembled in the 2nd week in April 1963 and delivered in the USA. Painted in “Daytona Blue” combined with a dark blue vinyl interior the Vette still presents herself as originally delivered. During its life the car received a correct 327 cubic inch replacement engine, and, with the help of a Carter AFB carburettor and an original GM aluminium inlet manifold, power was raised to the 1963 340hp configuration. In 2016 the Sting Ray was acquired by the vendor in the USA and imported into Switzerland. The beautiful and very authentic Split Window Coupé is technically in good condition with age correct signs of use to the coach work and the interior. The Vette has a FIVA-ID and the last Veteran MOT was completed in November 2020.
