Beschreibung

--Tahitian Turquoise with White Vinyl upholstery, 2.7 liter Air cooled 6 cylinder engine, Powerglide Automatic transmission, restored.

Introduced in 1960, Chevrolet designed a revolutionary new car. The Corvair was powered by an air-cooled horizontal six-cylinder engine made almost entirely out of aluminum. The engine was mounted in the rear of the car, driving the rear wheels through a compact automatic transaxle. Suspension was independent at all four wheels. There was no conventional frame, it was the first Unibody built by Fisher Body. The styling was unconventional for Detroit, subtle and elegant, with no tailfins or chrome grille. Time magazine put the Corvair on the cover and Motor Trend named the Corvair as the 1960 "Car of the Year. A dramatic redesign of the Corvair came in 1965. The new body showed influence from the Corvette Stingray and the 1963 Buick Riviera.

Trim tag decode: 1965 Monza 2-door sport coupe produced 3rd week of May, Built in Willow Run, Michigan. 797 white interior, K -K Paint Medium Aqua, H trim White/Aqua, 2M Powerglide auto, 3C Padded Dash, 4P Z01 convenience package (2 speed wipers, washers and Day/Night mirror).

Documented restoration over a three year period, it has been in collector ownership and cared for impeccably since.
