A peerless testament to artistry through engineering, the 2008 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Pur Sang—French for "Pure Blood" or "Thoroughbred"—emerged as one of the marque’s earliest and most daring limited editions, setting a precedent for the bespoke, boundary-pushing variants that have come to define the marque. Unveiled at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show and limited to just five examples worldwide, the Pur Sang captivated with its radical minimalism: entirely devoid of paint, it showcased a striking interplay of mirror-polished aluminium and clear-coated carbon fibre.

Designer Achim Anscheidt likened the inspiration behind the Veyron Pur Sang to the birth of his first child—an experience so profound and emotionally vivid, it remains etched in his memory. While observing the Veyron’s assembly, he was struck by the innate beauty of its unadorned structure. In that moment, his vision took shape. The Pur Sang would be a celebration of material contrast as the rich depth of exposed carbon fibre met the gleaming brilliance of mirror-polished aluminium.

Technologically, the Pur Sang is no mere showpiece. Its exposed materials are reported to shave up to 90 kilograms off the standard model’s kerb weight, resulting in a substantial improvement to its power-to-weight ratio. Beneath its minimalist skin lies the Veyron’s formidable 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine, producing 1,001 PS and capable of propelling the car to a blistering top speed of around 407 km/h. Accordingly, even with a price tag that put the special-edition Bugatti out of reach of most, all five Veyron 16.4 Pur Sangs sold out almost immediately upon the model’s debut. The Pur Sang became not just a symbol of performance, but an icon of exclusivity through design—a statement that has continued to define Bugatti’s philosophy in the years that followed.

The car presented for sale here is numbered "1". Complementing its exquisite exterior is a cabin adorned with a refined blend of beige and grey leather, elegantly framing the model’s signature turned aluminium centre console. The Veyron 16.4 was delivered new to Germany, where the car stayed with its first owner until it was sold to a buyer from Switzerland in 2010. In 2018 it was sold to its next private owner, who returned the Bugatti to Germany. Reflecting a life of careful stewardship with only three private owners, this example shows just over 7,629 kilometres on its odometer at the time of cataloguing. Accompanying the Veyron 16.4 is its service book, which lists some entries for Bugatti main dealer servicing. In October 2025, the Veyron was subject to routine Passeport Tranquillité servicing by Bugatti Hamburg, with new tyres fitted at the same time.

By daring to expose rather than conceal, the Veyron Pur Sang elevated the hypercar into a pure-blooded thoroughbred, a machine where raw power and refined form coalesce in perfect harmony.
