History:
The BMW M3 E30 Group A, launched in 1987, was designed by BMW Motorsport with the sole objective of homologating an ultra-competitive race car for the French and European Touring Car Championships. It dominated global motorsports for five years, amassing an unrivaled record of achievements including two World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) titles and multiple victories at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. Having become an icon thanks to its numerous victories on the track and in rallying, it defined the compact sports sedan segment before being phased out in 1991.

This model was built by “Delage caisse Matter.” With numerous rally appearances under its belt, this M3 was fully restored in 2005.
Built from scratch by Hugues Delage, it subsequently raced under his ownership (technical passport available) and finished the French Rally Championship’s 2nd division in 2nd place in 1996 behind Sylvain Polo in a Renault Megane Maxi, before being sold to Trojani, a Corsican driver. An appraisal report dated 1998, prepared at the time of sale, is available.

The car was subsequently acquired by Jean-Louis Langlade, also a former driver. The current owner purchased it in 2019. Since 2022, the car has competed in several VHRS events, including the Rallycircuit de la Sainte-Baume, the Rallye du Var, and the Tour de Corse Historique. Its entire history is fully documented, with extensive supporting evidence: official documents, maintenance and repair invoices.

This model has therefore competed in numerous official races. In 2004, the crew went off the road. The chassis was undamaged, but everything else was affected. So, to continue into the following season in 2005, the car had to be completely refurbished. A full rebuild was carried out by Francis Dosières, a former French hill climb champion and specialist in Group A M3s.

The car was therefore fitted with a brand-new MATTER body, incorporating all the latest developments of the era. It is a genuine MATTER body, with a race-weight of 1,105 kg.

This car is now in remarkable condition.

The body is in very good condition and free of corrosion. The alignment and fit are good. The white paint, perfectly smooth, is complemented by Yacco stickers, the main sponsor. The wheels are well-preserved. The headlight lenses show no particular defects. This vehicle is equipped with additional long-range headlights.

Inside, the car is equipped with a roll cage, two Recaro bucket seats, OMP 5-point harnesses, an intercom, and all other equipment necessary for a crew competing in official races. All onboard components are functional.

The “S14” engine starts normally; it is responsive and revs up smoothly. It is equipped with a Delage carbon intake and aviation-grade hoses. The dog-clutch gearbox shifts with a firm, masculine feel. The handling is excellent. The car is sold with a set of new rain tires and two additional wheels.

Although this model has not competed in official events for several years, the owner insists that maintenance of his M3 must still be performed by recognized professionals. To this end, Garage Joffroy—a specialist in rally car preparation—was entrusted with the work in 2022.
