"The Bentley Turbo R initially inherited the turbocharged engine from the Mulsanne Turbo and also sported a retuned suspension and wider tyres on alloy wheels, quite a departure for a Bentley. From the 1987 model year, however, the Turbo R's V8 engine was retuned with new Bosch MK-Motronic fuel injection for added torque. Other modifications carried out at the same time included new sports seats and a higher rear axle ratio. Motor Trend called the Turbo R ‘the first Bentley in decades deserving of the famous name’. The suspension changes, though seemingly subtle, transformed the heavy car into a real performer and slotted above the Bentley Mulsanne S and Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit and it carved a well-deserved niche in the world of performance saloons.
This lovely and original example of this long wheelbase model is presented in black with black leather interior and red piping to match the coachline on the exterior. It comes with air conditioning, electric front and rear seats which are also heated (front only) and electrically operated wing mirrors. The car also has its service book containing a reasonably good number of stamps within it from both main dealer and independent specialists. Both the bodywork and the interior are in good condition considering its age but with only 31,414 miles from new, one would expect this!"
