Beschreibung
Hand built in England, the DB AR1 – or American Roadster 1 – had a production run of just 99 cars that quickly presold after a reveal at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Mechanically, the DB AR1 used a tuned version of Aston Martin’s six-litre V-12 engine producing 435 bhp, an increase of 15 bhp over the Vantage. Multi-piston Brembo disc brakes were used to provide sustained performance and reduced fade at high speeds. The DB AR1 offered here, no. 76 of 99, is a particularly handsome example. Finished in special-order Ferrari Nero Daytona (Daytona Black) over light tan leather. Factory options include a satellite navigation system, embroidered floor mats, power-fold mirrors, black brake calipers, roadster wheels, fire extinguisher, and aluminum shift knob and switches.
DB AR1 no. 76 was purchased new in March 2004 in Sparta, New Jersey, and had just a single private owner until 2021. Showing approximately 3,185 miles at the time of cataloguing, it has clearly benefited from years of diligent care, including a recent service. Offered with a treasure trove of original accessories, including original, numbered books, and car cover, protective seat covers, a battery charger, maintenance receipts, delivery literature, and a scale model.
Certainly among the finest examples extant, this DB AR1 presents in outstanding condition and represents a rare opportunity to acquire a limited-edition coachbuilt roadster from a legendary, avant-garde Italian design house.
