Aston Martin 'DB5/1674/R' was first supplied new by Plough Motors to Mr Frank J Huck of Gloucestershire on the 22nd of July 1964. Its build sheet confirms a specification of triple S.U carburettor and Sierra Blue livery with Fawn hide.

The original wet-ink sales invoice from 1964, confirming the DB5's order and specification, has been retained by the car, as well as the original part-exchange document for two 3.8 litre Jaguars, which left a balance of £2641, 15 shillings and 4 pence. Both documents, as well as the original buff log book, are in outstanding condition given their age.

The DB5 remained in the Huck family for over 42 years before being sold by his grandson in 2022 at the annual Bonhams auction at Goodwood Revival. The current custodian of the DB5 commissioned marque specialists, Richards of England, to undertake a meticulous body-off restoration, which concluded in the Summer of 2025.

Before the restoration, the car was painted in 'Pillar Box Red', the only additional coats of paint applied during almost 60 years. During the disassembly, discovery of the original paint of 'Sierra Blue' was uncovered, referenced and matched to obtain the correct shade for the repainting process.
Throughout the restoration, many original details were uncovered, such as the underside cloth of the rear seat, bearing '1674' in chalk, the near-perfect door card timbers, pencilled '1674', all of which have been carefully retained during the restoration. Preservation of the original ACE number plates, 'BDF 725B', remains as they were when the DB5 left the factory in the Summer of 1964.

The car became a star of the 2025 Yorkshire Elegance concours, winning the title of the Aston Martin DB Class. The event served as the official unveiling of the DB5 to the client, being the first time he had seen the car since its completion. Adding to the accolade list for '1674' was the prestigious invitation to display the DB5 at the annual Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace, 2025. A fastidious selection process, strictly limited to 75 cars from around the world, further cemented the car's place as one of the very best examples today.

This DB5 now offers an exciting opportunity for the next custodian to own, enjoy and display at major concours events.
