Overview

Unveiled at the 1970 Geneva Motor Show, the Alfa Romeo Montreal was a futuristic gran turismo that merged race-bred performance with avant-garde Italian design. Designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone, the Montreal was inspired by Alfa’s Tipo 33 and featured a detuned version of its V8 engine, adapted for the road with civilised manners and unmistakable character.

This particular 1972 Montreal, chassis AR1427737, is a rare and meticulously restored example finished in the elegant period-correct shade of Oro Metallizzato. It showcases the timeless Gandini lines with its iconic retractable headlight grilles and vented C-pillars – a masterpiece of 1970s automotive sculpture.

With a complete restoration carried out in Italy, Classiche certification by Alfa Romeo, and only four recorded owners since new (including 35 years with one), this Montreal is a reference-quality car for discerning collectors.
