Description
Launched in 1959 to replace the 2.4 and 3.4 liter models, which would soon become known as the Mk I, this is the Jaguar 3.8 Mk II, bearing a strong resemblance to its predecessor, but with a much lighter and more modern appearance.
Compared to the brand's previous models, it has undergone many changes in both in the details and the finish and, although the interior has been completely redesigned, it remained very luxurious, with wood and leather details in abundance.
As with the larger-engined version of the MK I, the 3.8-liter MK II has exceptional performance for its time and was for a long time the fastest production sedan in the world.
An authentic luxury car and a very rare model, which already has power steering and four-wheel disc brakes. This Mk II was sold new in Portugal by Palma Morgado Lda, official Jaguar importer, and has an enviable reputation in European motorsport, having competed in numerous regular events and rallies in France and the Iberian Peninsula.
It is equipped with an engine prepared by the acclaimed Guy Broad, in England, with three Weber 45 carburetors, five-speed Getrag gearbox, limited-slip differential and Cooper Craft brake system. On board, the original sumptuousness remains, despite the steering wheel having been replaced by a classic Moto-Lita model, behind which we find a very complete instrument panel.
