Despite its Italian owner, Bugatti was a company based in France. Its founder, Ettore Bugatti, made car fabrication a true art, but at the same time was passionate about racing. That unusual combination stimulated the production of some magnificent models. His death in 1947 resulted in the company's closure a few years later. An attempt to revive the company in 1987 was financially unsuccessful, and Bugatti once again closed its doors in 1995. A second attempt was made in 1998, and today the company is owned by the Volkswagen Group.

Jaguar is a British luxury car manufacturer located in Coventry, England. Founded by Sir William Lyons in 1922 as a manufacturer of motorcycle sidecars, the company's subsequent car designs - such as the XK120 and E-type - are widely regarded to be some of the most beautiful in automotive history. Jaguar is currently part of Jaguar Land Rover, which was purchased by Tata Motors from the Ford Motor Company in January 2008.

Self-made millionaire Ferruccio Lamborghini made his fortune by building tractors from army surplus left by the Allied Forces back in 1945. Lamborghini’s dream car was designed to directly oppose Ferrari’s race-ready, track-derived monsters. Wanting a higher level of refinement, Lamborghini’s first car to roll off the assembly line was the 1963 350 GTV. With both car and agricultural businesses flourishing, Ferruccio allowed his engineers to design and construct a new car – the legendary Miura, arguably the world’s first supercar. Following decades of financial uncertainty and ownership changes, the company now operates as part of the Volkswagen empire, and has enjoyed significant sales increases in the last 15 years. Early on in McLaren’s history, company founder and New Zealand-born racing driver Bruce McLaren set out to capitalise on the team’s success in the Can-Am series by building a racing car for the road. The McLaren M6 GT was Bruce’s pet project and he developed the car in-house at his Colnbrook factory near London during 1968/9. In 1992, McLaren launched a road car once again - the Gordon Murray-designed F1. The no-compromise supercar was the fastest road car in the world, with a top speed of 241mph - a record only few cars have beaten to this day. The McLaren Group has always been committed to motorsport and has successfully competed at the very highest levels, in Formula 1 and other great motor racing series, as well as competitions such as Can-Am, Indy car and Le Mans.

Porsche is one of the world’s most prestigious automotive brands, with headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. Founded in 1931 by Ferdinand Porsche, the company is best known for its iconic 911, which has evolved through seven generations since first going on sale in 1964. Porsche also has a significant competition history, including wins at the Targa Florio and a record 16 Le Mans 24H victories. A close relationship with VW has been maintained ever since Porsche designed the Beetle; this was solidified in 2012, when Volkswagen took full ownership of Porsche.
