What a pretty picture this 1975 Alfa Romeo 1600 GT Junior truly is. This car was fully restored a few years ago with the mechanical side being fully tackled more recently.

The result is clear to see. The bodywork is as straight as an arrow with fine thin and correctly aligned panelwork. Underneath the car is as much a joy to see as the top is. It has original Alfa Romeo rims shod incorrectly sized good quality Pirellis. The brightwork and chrome bumpers also look at their best. The resprayed paintwork has more than held its own.

The interior trim has been authentically reupholstered. The seats have black vinyl upholstery with the rest carpeted in black. The Jaeger gauges look and function just as you like them to be. The characteristic long handle gearstick features proudly in the central tunnel and shifts with typical languid strokes. The characteristic wooden Nardi three-spoke steering wheel is the cherry on top of the cake of this gorgeous interior.

Mechanically the car was fully taken to task. The 1600 Twincam is far more powerful than you would expect in the first instance. The engine transfers its power through to the rear wheels by means of a good working manual gearbox. Which is just how we like our Alfa Romeos to be. In the past there were hoards of Italians who would never drive anything other than a GT Junior, the reason for this becomes clear after having driven a few miles. Everything is right about these cars, the ergonomics is perfect, the engine is pitch-perfect, the gear change is splendid and the suspension is a perfect blend of sportiness and comfort.

The car’s restoration has been very well documented with invoices and photos. You can readily appreciate the amount of energy and dedication put into bringing this Alfa Romeo 1600 GT Junior back to its former glory. After even a short test drive we could not come to any other conclusion other than to say: Mission accomplished. The next owner is undoubtedly going to have a mountain of enjoyment with this beautiful Italian coupé. We have got your expresso ready and waiting.
