Watch our chat with Mai Ikuzawa on Classic Driver Live

Her father Tetsu Ikuzawa might be a national hero in Japan, but Mai Ikuzawa has long stepped out of his shadow, building a profile as an automotive consultant and one of the most creative and influential personalities in contemporary car culture. So don’t miss our chat with Mai on 15 December.

The daughter of Japanese cult motorsport hero Tetsu Ikuzawa, Mai Ikuzawa grew up, quite literally, at the racetracks of Japan and Europe, and while she was resistant to the automotive ‘bug’ at first, a deep appreciation and passion for car culture soon became engrained in her. It’s this, coupled with her creative flair and relentless desire to fight stereotypes and simply have fun, for which Ikuzawa has become so well known in this sphere. Along with managing her flourishing international creative agency, Bow Wow International (where stunt driving is actually offered as a service), and recently relaunching her father's 1980s brand, Team Ikuzawa, Mai is a keen skier and balances her time between London and Chamonix. Read our 2017 interview if you missed it back then.

For this week's Classic Driver Live session, our host Philip Rathgen chats with Mai about her father’s racing legacy, the challenges of being a woman in a male-dominated industry and the latest trends in contemporary car culture. You can catch the chat live on our Instagram channel from 1900 CET/1800 BST on 15th December, or afterwards either on our IGTV channel or right here on this page.
