Description

"The Ford Mustang was brought out five months before the normal start of the 1965 production year with production beginning in Dearborn, Michigan on March 9 1964; it was introduced to the public on 17thApril 1964 at the New York World's Fair. It has since seen several platform generations and designs. Although some other pony cars have seen a revival, the Mustang is the only original pony car to remain in uninterrupted production over five decades of development and revision. In autumn 1993, the Mustang underwent its first major redesign in 15 years. The fifth generation Mustang was introduced in 2005 under the direction of Chief Engineer Hau Thai-Tang, a veteran engineer for Ford's IndyCar program under Mario Andretti and exterior styling designer Sid Ramnarace; the fifth-generation Mustang's styling echoes the fastback Mustang models of the late-1960s. Ford's senior vice president of design called it retro-futurism. The fifth-generation Mustang was manufactured at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan.
This 2005 manufactured GT Coupé was imported into the UK in May 2009. A Shelby front end adorns this Mustang and she also benefits from having Ford racing wheels. Described as a ‘real driver’s car’ this example has short shift gearing and a racing clutch. A well stamped service book accompanies MU55 YEH together with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate. This Mustang GT Coupé is finished in black with contrasting red interior. A real head turner of a car.
