Description

"The Renault 9 and Renault 11 are small family cars produced by the French manufacturer for model years 1981–1988 in saloon (Renault 9) and hatchback (Renault 11) configurations both styled by the French automobile designer, Robert Opron.
The models use a transverse front-wheel drive engine configuration, and feature four-wheel independent suspension. They were chosen as the European Car of the Year in 1982, as well as the Car of the Year by Motor Trend and one of the 10 Best by Car and Driver in 1983. In 1985a Renault II is featured as a taxi in the James Bond movie ‘A View to a Kill’ with Roger Moore driving it around Paris where he systematically destroys it in a car chase.
This delightful example of the Renault II Broadway has covered a mere 45,459 miles from new and is presented in the same colour as the James Bond taxi and features a fitted Taxi top in homage to the 007 movie. Offered with an MoT test certificate until June 2021 this is a slice of MI6 fun based on a very useable example of the 1982 Car of the Year.Interested parties should note the vendor informs us that this car does have a substantial history file including original manuals and service booklets which unfortunately were missed when transported to auction but will send these to the new owner.
