The ultimate XK120 DHC available on the market

Chassis 678140 was delivered on the 12th of March 1954 to the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico to a lawyer, it is believed to be the sole XK120 DHC sold to Puerto Rico; it joined two XK120 OTS’s which were delivered in 1950. Finished in Cream over a Biscuit interior and Sand hood, the lawyer enjoyed touring the island in the XK120 DHC before being sold in the late 1990's to the Jaguar Distributor Grosch in San Juan, where a complete restoration was started, sadly the owner of Grosch feel ill and the car was sold to Northern Jaguar in Yorkshire who immediately sold the car to our client in September of 2016.

The car was completely stripped down to bare metal, with the full bare body being resprayed in its original colour Cream by Keith Miles of Bumpers Body Shop in Burgess Hill. Nick Reeves reworked the woodwork of the car and the gearbox was rebuilt by P&R Gearboxes in Sussex, while the current owner who is highly experienced in classic car restorations has rebuilt the engine and fitted the electrics and trimmed the car to an exceptionally high standard. The restoration is well documented from start to finish with a detailed photo diary as well as a collection of supporting paperwork dating back to it's time in Puerto Rico. The current owner wanted wherever possible for the original parts to be restored and not replaced which means the car is an outstanding original example including period tyres with drum brakes all round.

As this XK120 DHC was the only one shipped to Puerto Rico it remains intact with all matching numbers including its original engine and gearbox. Accompanying the car is a magnificent history file that includes various maintenance service invoices dating back to the 90s, Jaguar Heritage Certificate and detailed documentation about the recent restoration. The car is also complete with it's tool roll, bottle jack and original.

Trades and project cars are welcome.
