Description

"The Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit III and Silver Spur III were introduced in 1993, featuring engine improvements and some cosmetic updates over the earlier models; the Silver Spur being the longer wheelbase Silver Spirit by 4. Power was increased whilst the semi-active suspension systems were modified so that shock absorbers would default into 'soft' ride mode when they wore out (rather than 'hard' in the previous Mk. II, noticeably impacting ride quality). Dual airbags were introduced inside along with independent adjustment of the rear seats. The coachwork had been designed at the in-house styling centre by Fritz Feller, the styling being more modern than that of its predecessor. The interior was dominated by the expected combination of fine wood and leather. It was also the first Rolls-Royce to be fitted with a retractable Spirit of Ecstasy.
This example of the Silver Spur III is presented in very good order. Although displaying some minor age related marks, the blue coachwork is corrosion free whilst the cream leather and walnut interior is one of the best we have seen for this age of Rolls-Royce. The occupants are treated to, not only the sumptuous leather and walnut fittings, but also to a DVD player in the rear seat headrests, rear picnic tables and eight-track stereo and lambs wool over rugs.  Although recorded with three previous keepers, this Spur III has had only three owners in total. We are informed that the current owner took possession of this Rolls-Royce during September 1998 under the name of Royal Sovereign and Military Order until June 2016 where it was then transferred into the vendor’s name. An extensive file includes a history of main dealership maintenance with recent works being a suspension rebuild and service with Bentley Surrey on 19th April 2019 at a cost of £2,270. We are informed that this example drives very well, a testament to its service and maintenance upkeep. It comes with a UK V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate valid until 29th January 2020 and a large history file. There is only one thing remaining and that is for a new owner to enjoy and experience this sumptuous motorcar.
Interested parties should note that the private plate pictured is not included and the registration number is now L193 PRB."
