One of Louis Vuitton’s classic suitcases has received a metallic makeover

Creative mastermind Virgil Abloh and his team at Louis Vuitton have updated one of the historic French fashion house’s most classic pieces, the Bisten suitcase, for the present day…

A metallic makeover

The new Louis Vuitton Bisten Monogram Titane might share its dimensions and overall design with the classic original (if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right?), but it’s been constructed using new-age materials. The external shell is made from titanium with the signature LV monogram logos laser-etched onto it, while the previously brass componentry has been crafted from ruthenium, which is a rare platinum metal that shines a deep and glossy black for the ultimate stealth look. The corner pads and handles are traditional cowhide and coloured in contrasting tan, which retains the timeless aesthetic. The case comes in three sizes with prices ranging from 41,000–46,500 USD. Who says vintage is always best?
