Description

"We are delighted to offer this 1989 example of the Porsche 911/930 Turbo Cabriolet, one of only, approximately 100 manufactured and one of only 50, righthand example produced. This model was the only production Porsche 911/930 Turbo to be equipped with the air-cooled turbo engine. The 3.3 litre engine generated over 330bhp and had a 0-60 time of approximately five seconds, performance that set the model ahead of its peers. Towards the end of production, the model was fitted with the highly praised Getrag G50, five-speed gearbox. But it is not just the performance that sets it apart; it’s the way in which it delivers it in such a sensational way. The acceleration may be likened to an aircraft taking off, the occupants, sat within the air-conditioned and leather interior, being pushed hard in the back whilst the low hum of the engine being unobtrusive; an almost surreal experience.
First registered on 26th January 1989, this example has been in the current ownership for over 14 years. The Baltic Blue metallic coachwork, with its distinctive flared wheel arches and ‘picnic table’ rear spoiler, presents well and is complimented with a blue and white leather interior, that is also in excellent order. The electric hood is in very good order, having been replaced in 2013 whilst the genuine Fuchs wheels were replaced and shod with new tyres in 2016. Due to personal circumstances, this Porsche has not been able to be used and therefore has now been offered to the market having covered, only approximately 10,000 miles since 2005. The 911 is complete with a large history file that includes its book pack, service records, invoices, old MoT test certificates, history of owners and current UK V5C registration document. The owner informs us that, for peace of mind for a new owner, the Porsche has recently received a service that included filters, the correct oil and spark plugs and an MoT test certificate that has no advisories.
On its introduction in 1978, the 911 Turbo was the fastest accelerating road car of its day and, the last of the line cars, manufactured in 1989, are highly sought after today. With so few righthand drive examples being built, this desirable, late production air cooled Porsche, surely represents outstanding value in today's market place.
