Description
"The Porsche 997 is the most recent variant of the ubiquitous 911, the 997 being the factory type number for the car. The car was released in July 2004, and was tasked with bringing the 911 concept into the 21st Century, featuring many key revisions over the outgoing 996. The turbocharged version of the 997 series featured the same 3.6 litre twin turbocharged engine as the 996 Turbo. It has VTG (variable turbine geometry), that combines the low-rev boost and quick responses of a small turbocharger with the high-rev power of a larger turbocharger. It also offers higher fuel efficiency compared to the 996 Turbo. The 997 Turbo features a new all wheel drive system, similar to the one found on the Porsche Cayenne. This 997 Gen II, 3.8 Turbo looks impressive in metallic grey with a black leather interior. The multi-spoked alloys are set off well by the big red Porsche brake calipers. The car has a comprehensive service history with a service book showing five Porsche main dealer stamps. The last service being completed at Porsche Silverstone on 16th August 2017 at 51,320 miles. Presented to auction with a V5C registration certificate and an MoT test certificate valid until March 2019. It has been brought to our attention the delightful coincidence that this 997 has a chassis number ending in 997. It is not difficult to see why the 997 model received mostly positive reviews from the motoring press. Even Porsche detractor Jeremy Clarkson noted that the 997 will 'make love to your fingertips and stir your soul’."
