Description

In 1967, the final production year for the C2 Corvette, America’s sports car reached new heights in terms of power, styling, and refinement.

This Stingray Coupe was assembled in November 1966 at General Motors’ St. Louis plant and was equipped with the optional, high-performance L79 small-block 327/350 V-8 mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. This Stingray’s performance is enhanced by optional side pipes that emit a throaty sound and encourage spirited driving.

Finished in the striking color scheme of Ermine White with red interior, the eye-catching appearance of this Corvette is accentuated by the addition of a 427 hood with a distinctive red “stinger” that is unique to the 1967 model year.

Restored by a Texas collector in the early 2000s, it was sold in 2013 to Rick Smith, the owner of Shaver Automotive Restoration in Torrance, California. Mr. Smith treated the car to a mechanical refurbishment and then sold it to a Southern California enthusiast. The consignor – who has a respected stable of high-quality sports cars – acquired the Corvette in 2012 and has driven it sparingly. Early in his ownership, the consignor sent the car to Florida-based Corvette specialist Walter’s Engineering, where it was serviced. The work included installing a correct air-conditioning unit and addressing other mechanical systems.

Today, this well-equipped and handsome Corvette presents an alluring opportunity for a collector to acquire one of the most iconic sports cars of all time.
