The Model -Think you know everything there is to know about the Zimmer Quicksilver because underneath it is just a Pontiac Fiero? Well time to think again, there are a lot of reasons why an $11,000 mid-engine coupe cost the original owner somewhere north of $50,000 when this was a brand-new car. Starting with a brand new Fiero, Zimmer and company removed the factory outer shell, then stretched the floorpan out 16" behind the front suspension and in front of the A-pillar. A new body was constructed and outfitted with fine Italian leathers, real wood accents for the dashboard, door panels and console, and the all important gauges. On the outside, the body was long, low and lean with a sloped front nose with just the right amount of chrome accents added. Also added was plenty of luggage space in the compartment ahead of the driver as well as an extended area to the rear of the car making the Quicksilver an honest touring coupe. Hand-rubbed finishes, attention to detail, an upgraded sound-system and re-routed air-conditioning made this little coupe so much more than it had started out in stock form.

The Car - Looking as fresh today as it did when it left the Zimmer Works in Pompano Beach, Florida, this beautiful car has been pampered and cared for from day one. Recorded as #83 of a limited production run of 150 units, this stunning black beauty is fitted inside with comfortable bucket seats crafted in fine black leather bolsters with diamond stitched pewter leather inserts with the Zimmer logos applied to the headrests. All of the wooden décor looks fresh and needs nothing more than a light dusting to be show-car ready. All of the exterior chrome work, and there is quite a bit of it, has retained its deep reflective qualities while the factory black paint is as close to flawless as you can imagine. Of course, it has all the amenities you would expect, cruise control, power brakes, steering, windows, and locks, plus the upgrade Delco sound system for your listening enjoyment. Mechanically the Quicksilver retained all of the Fiero's original drive train provided an estimated 24 MPG, and able to go from zero to 60 MPH well under the 10-second mark. This is a collectible that is enjoyable, fun to drive and sure to turn heads at every corner.
