Description
The Ferrari 328 was the last and best evolution of the iconic 308, forever associated with Tom Selleck’s Magnum, P.I. TV series. The 328 was introduced at the 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show as both a GTB Berlinetta and the open-top GTS. Its 3.2-liter, quattrovalvole V-8 gained a Marelli multiplex ignition for more torque, and produced 270 hp at 7,000 rpm. The result was 0–60 mph in 5.5 seconds, 0–100 mph in 13 seconds, and a top speed of 166 mph.
Leonardo Fioravanti’s elegant redesign of the mid-engine 308 smoothed the classic wedge shape brilliantly. The bumpers and grille were integrated and body-colored, and the interior offered improved comfort plus more-intuitive ergonomics. The 328 featured quicker steering, and as a September 1988 build, this car enjoys the revised 1989 chassis and suspension, without the extra weight of ABS.
This GTS is an exceptional low-mileage original, with matching numbers confirmed by factory warranty documentation. The classic Rosso Corsa paint is complemented by rare Tobacco leather interior, and options include air-conditioning, heated rear window and power mirrors, and a Blaupunkt Los Angeles stereo. A service was performed 150 miles ago, including installation of new timing belts, an air-conditioning update, and a mechanical inspection; also, the tires were recently replaced. Well loved and well preserved, this beautiful GTS comes with an owner’s manual, warranty/service booklet, jack, tool set, and service records.
