10 affordable collector cars from Silverstone Auctions’ Race Retro Sale

With the promise of warmer weather growing ever closer, we’ve consulted the upcoming Silverstone Race Retro catalogue and picked 10 wallet-friendly options…

From the delightfully diverse offerings going under the hammer on 26 February, there are a multitude of affordable classics up for grabs. Particular favourites of ours include the Renault Alpine A310 in full-fat, Fleischmann-bodied form (est. 22,000–25,000 pounds), the zesty Zetec-engined Lotus Elan (est. 18,000–22,000 pounds), and of course, the über desirable round taillight, right-hand-drive Inka Orange BMW 2002 Tii (est. 18,000–22,000 pounds) — absolutely one to buy before it’s too late.  Special mention goes to the ugly duckling BMW 502, a Goodwood regular with a hearty V8 to make up for its questionable aerodynamics. You can browse the entire catalogue in the Classic Driver Market.
